Plus tôt ce mois-ci, Apple envoyait aux développeurs les premières bêtas de son navigateur Safari en version 7.1 et 6.2 pour respectivement OS X Mavericks et Mountain Lion. La Pomme libère ce matin deux nouvelles pré-versions de ce qui devrait être la dernière mise à jour du navigateur pour ces deux OS avant la sortie de OS X Yosemite.
En plus de la compatibilité générale des sites web, Apple demande aux développeurs de se focaliser sur le remplissage automatique des informations de carte de crédit et de mots de passe, la compatibilité des extensions, ainsi que nouveautés apportées à WebKit.

Safari 7.1 for OS X Mavericks requires OS X 10.9.4. Safari 6.2 for OS X Mountain Lion requires OS X 10.8.5.
Focus Areas Please focus testing on the following areas: • Please test password and credit card AutoFill. • Please test general website compatibility. • Subpixel rendering is now on by default for all web content. Web sites or in-app web views with extremely tight design constraints may render differently. • CSS object model getters will return fractional double values based on subpixel layout and rendering metrics instead of rounded integral values. • Please test extension compatibility. New WebKit Features • WebGL. Safari support for WebGL allows developers to create 3D experiences that work natively without plug-ins. • IndexedDB. The IndexedDB API allows web developers to store structured data for web applications that work online or require large amounts of data to be cached client side. • JavaScript Promises. Safari enables JavaScript authors to more naturally work with asynchronous programming patterns. • CSS Shapes and Compositing. Using CSS, websites can now easily flow text around images and geometry shapes, and perform image compositing operations on DOM elements.
